Introducing

The Novice Program

Our Novice program serves students ages 8-11. It is based on Montessori principles adapted to a virtual environment, including rich learning activities both online and offline and adapted for international families. We’ve carefully created a set of experiences that combine personalized learning, Socratic dialogue, and offline learning experiences that develop your child’s heart and mind within a warm community, ensuring both personal well-being and academic success.

TAILORED PROJECTS: Tackle projects suited to talents and need, both individually and in groups.

TEAMWORK: An ability to work in groups to solve problems.

EMPATHY: A heightened sense of empathy and community.

COMMUNICATION: Enhanced reading, writing, listening and storytelling skills.

Check in with each other, present their work and show appreciation.

Architectonics

Create stories inspired by the Five Great Lessons of Montessori: Coming of the Universe and Earth; Coming of Life; Humanity evolves; Communication and Writing; The history of Numbers.

Socratic

Use discussion and debate skills to solve mathematical problems, sort through complex texts and address ethical issues.

Creative Learning

Pursue art projects of various forms, including drawing, sculpting, cooking and performing or writing music.

Lunch

Eat lunch, then bond with nature, share poems, go on scavenger hunts and even do culinary activities together.

Individual and Group Projects

Participate in sessions led by guides with Expat International School Middle School apprentices. Example projects include podcasts, graphic design, video editing, or coding.

Council

Intently listen and learn to speak effectively, become more understanding and gain perspective on the world.

Mentoring Session

Check in with their mentors and discuss progress on attaining goals.

Foreign Language

Students have the option of taking a second language. Our language development program is based on modern language acquisition methods and storytelling developed by internationally celebrated polyglots.
